Direct answer

No source we could read ranks sales-leadership titles by growth for 2027, so there is no fastest-growing sales-leadership title to name. LinkedIn publishes an annual Jobs on the Rise list of the 25 fastest-growing US roles, and the latest edition, published January 7, 2026, is the closest public evidence.

In that list the sales-leadership-adjacent titles are Sales Executives at rank 10 and Business Development Executives at rank 16. Advertising Sales Specialists sit at rank 8, but that is a selling role, not a leadership one. The 2025 US edition, published January 7, 2025, ranked Chief Growth Officer 17 and Chief Revenue Officer 23. Revenue-operations and enablement titles last appeared in the 2023 list, which put Head of Revenue Operations at rank 1 and Sales Enablement Specialist at rank 6.

This page gives no growth percentages for any title, because the LinkedIn lists we read publish ranks, not rates. Some other web pages quote percentage growth for CRO, RevOps and enablement titles; we could not trace those figures to a LinkedIn publication, so we do not use them.

What LinkedIn publishes and what it does not

LinkedIn's annual Jobs on the Rise report is the public ranking of title growth. The US 2026 edition, published January 7, 2026 by LinkedIn News, is a US list. LinkedIn Economic Graph researchers analyzed millions of jobs that members started between January 2023 and July 2025 and calculated a growth rate for each job title. A title needed positive growth, enough job postings in the past year and a meaningful size by 2025. Identical titles at different seniority levels were grouped, and internships, volunteer, interim and student roles were excluded.

The list is not cut by function. There is no sales-leadership ranking inside it, and no 2027 edition exists yet on the date we read it, November 2, 2026. The page we read shows a rank for each title and not the growth rate behind it, so any statement of a percentage for a title is unsupported by what LinkedIn published there.

The Europe 2026 edition, published the same day, shows no sales, revenue or sales-leadership titles as ranked roles in the text we read, so it does not change the picture.

Where sales titles appear in the 2026 US list

Three selling or sales-management titles made the 2026 US top 25. Sales Executives ranked 10th. LinkedIn describes the role as leading a company's sales activity, including revenue targets, client relationships and sales team management. Median prior experience is 8.0 years, the top skills are C-Level Management, International Sales and Sales Strategy, and the top hiring locations are Los Angeles, New York City and Dallas. Common prior roles are VP of Global Sales, COO and VP of Business Development. LinkedIn shows 19% of holders as female and 81% as male, and 2.1% of postings as remote and 3.3% as hybrid.

Business Development Executives ranked 16th, with median prior experience of 7.4 years, 39% female and 61% male, and 18.8% of postings remote and 29.2% hybrid. Advertising Sales Specialists ranked 8th, with median prior experience of 5.6 years. Sales Executives is the only title of the three that LinkedIn describes as covering sales team management.

The Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Growth Officer in the 2025 list

The US 2025 edition, published January 7, 2025, covered jobs members started between January 1, 2022 and July 31, 2024. It ranked Chief Growth Officer 17th and Chief Revenue Officer 23rd, and also listed Outside Sales Representative at rank 8. The 2026 list does not include either chief title in the text we read, so we cannot say they are still growing on this measure, only that they were on the 2025 list.

For the Chief Revenue Officer, LinkedIn describes a role that oversees the organization's revenue generation processes and works closely with sales and marketing teams. Median prior experience is 8.2 years, top skills are Revenue Generation, Software as a Service (SaaS) and Go-to-Market Strategy, and top hiring locations are New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Common prior roles are Chief Marketing Officer, Vice President of Sales and Vice President of Business Development. LinkedIn shows 15% female and 85% male, with 49.6% of postings remote and 23% hybrid.

For the Chief Growth Officer, median prior experience is 7.2 years, top skills are Growth Strategies, Strategic Partnerships and Go-to-Market Strategy, and top hiring locations are New York City, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta. Common prior roles are Vice President of Sales, Vice President of Strategy and Chief Marketing Officer. LinkedIn shows 27% female and 73% male, with 39.0% remote and 29.9% hybrid.

Revenue operations and enablement: the 2023 list

CNBC's report on the 2023 list, published January 18, 2023, describes the 25 fastest-growing US occupations over five years, based on job titles that grew most on LinkedIn between January 2018 and July 2022. It put Head of Revenue Operations at rank 1, also labeled chief revenue officer or head of revenue management, with a salary range of $70,000 to $300,000 and top hiring locations of San Francisco, New York City and Los Angeles. Sales Enablement Specialist ranked 6th, with a salary range of $50,000 to $157,000 and top hiring locations of Seattle, San Francisco and Boston.

This is the most recent LinkedIn US list we read that ranks revenue-operations or enablement titles, and it is older than the 2025 and 2026 lists. We could not open LinkedIn's own 2023 page, so these facts come from CNBC's report of it, not LinkedIn directly. It tells you which titles were rising then, not which are rising now.

What the labor data says about sales managers overall

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook entry for sales managers, last modified August 27, 2026, reports a median pay of $148,270 per year in May 2025. It counts 650,100 jobs in 2025 and projects 679,100 in 2035, a change of 29,000, with projected growth of 4% from 2025 to 2035. This is a federal projection for all sales managers and does not rank individual titles.

Read together, the BLS figure and LinkedIn's lists measure different things. BLS projects total employment for one occupation, while LinkedIn ranks job titles by growth among its members. Neither answers which title will grow fastest in 2027.

Two communities for revenue leaders publish their own descriptions. We did not verify their claims, and neither is a ranking source.
